Tracey was hired as the new school secretary in June 2016. She previously worked at Bay City Academy for the last four years as an administrative assistant, enrollment director, and paraprofessional. Mrs. Shark has also worked as a nursing assistant at Bay Medical Care Facility for four years. She lives in Linwood with her husband, Eric, and her four children, Victoria, Theodore, Anthony, and Tobias. She is proud graduate of All-Saints High School.

Kelly was born and raised in Bay City, where she attends the St. Catherine of Siena Parish. She received her Bachelor of Science in Integrated Science from Saginaw Valley State University, where she focused on Secondary Education. Kelly taught in the Carrollton Public School District last year, but middle school is where Kelly feels her heart truly lies. Kelly has coached the sport of pompon for the last eight years. She began coaching at Christa McAuliffe Middle School in Bay City, but has recently taken a new coaching positon with the H.H. Dow JV pompon team.

Amanda Bergman

Amanda earned her Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Michigan State University, where she went on to earn her teacher’s certification in Secondary Education. After moving to Midland in 2008, Amanda substitute taught for Midland Public Schools and Saint Brigid before being hired at Saint Brigid as the seventh-grade homeroom and middle-school math teacher. She also teaches journalism as an elective for seventh- and eighth-graders.

Amanda is a native of East Lansing, Michigan. She lives in Midland with her husband, Evan, and sons, Carter and Matthew, where they are members of Saint Brigid Parish.

Sheri Kuchek

Sheri Kuchek is a Midland native, wife of twenty years, and mother of three children. With a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Central Michigan University, her majors are History and English. She’s also near the end mark for her Master’s in English from Central Michigan University. She taught at a local high school before becoming a stay-at-home mother for thirteen years. She returned to teaching at Saint Brigid in 2012. With “farmer’s daughter” roots, Sheri loves nature and gardening. She also reads too much, writes a little, and walks her four dogs not enough.

Susan became the computer coordinator in December of 2000. She enjoys having the opportunity to work with students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Susan received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Michigan. She has experience working with both Apple and Windows-based computer systems. Currently, Susan is a member of the Michigan Association of Computer Users in Learning and continues to upgrade her skills through classes, seminars and workshops.

Susan is a Michigan native, having grown up in the Detroit suburbs. In 1982, she moved with her husband to the Midland area, where they raised two sons, now grown. Susan became the administrator for St. John’s episcopal preschool when her children were in attendance there. She later took a position as a paraprofessional in the Midland Public Schools at Carpenter Elementary. In 1997, she joined the staff of Saint Brigid Catholic School as a kindergarten paraprofessional. When the computer coordinator job opened up, she was excited to get back to her educational roots. Additionally, Susan has been a guest scientist in the Junior Science biology program.

Susan is a member of Saint Brigid Parish and volunteers as a eucharistic minister at Masses for the school children.

Michele Link
Drama/Creative Writing/Public Speaking

Michele attended Central Michigan University and Oakland University, majoring in English and minoring in speech, drama, and history. Diploma and teaching certificate in hand, she secured a position (shouts of hurrah from her parents) teaching high school English in Newaygo. During her 17-year, tenure Michele taught creative writing, speech and drama, literature classes, and was the National Honor Society adviser, and quiz bowl coach (competing at the state tournament thrice!).

In 1996, she said goodbye to Newaygo, moved to Midland, and married Bernie Link. They live on five acres with their amiable bird dog, Champ, and vociferous beagle, Bart. Michele enjoys reading (in her tent, weather permitting) swimming in the pond (same qualifier), and has become quite well-acquainted with the bean. Before joining the staff, Michele volunteer at Saint Brigid School in the library and was a guest reader.

Judyth Peterson

Judyth Peterson, is a Midland native, who holds a Bachelor of Music from Michigan State where she was a percussion major and member of the Spartan Marching Band.  She has taught numerous high school band camps throughout the state and was an instructor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, touring Europe with their International Orchestra.  She taught middle school band in Ft. Wayne, Indiana before returning to Midland to become the business manager for the Midland Symphony Orchestra, a position she held for 20 years.

Since 1983, she has instructed the Midland High School drumline, creating a unique percussion technique program that has attracted record numbers to the MHS band program.  She has been honored there as a Chemic for Life and homecoming Grand Marshall.  She also spent two years on the staff of the Northern Aurora Drum & Bugle Corps in Saginaw, touring the country on the DCI competition circuit.  As a commissioned lay minister at Blessed Sacrament Parish, she directed the handbell choir, served in adult formation, Christian initiation and liturgy, and traveled to Israel with the late Bishop Kenneth Untener.

In 2006 she opened a private percussion studio where she has coached several students on to the college level.  She performs regularly with the Resonators Percussion Ensemble, the MSU Alumni Band and is a member of the Percussive Arts Society.  Judyth sits on the board of the MSU Alumni Club of Midland County as past President.  A huge sports fan, she is a former fitness instructor at the Midland Community Center, member of the Midland Curling Club and loves walking her dog, Frankie, America’s greatest living schnauzer.

Physical Education

Mrs. Stachnik has worked at Saint Brigid School since 2009 in the kitchen, as a volunteer for the Scrip Program, and now as the Physical Education Course Instructor and Middle School Volleyball Coach. She has been married for 18 years to Mike, and they have three children, Alyssa, Tiffany and Jacob. They have made Midland their home since 1995. Mrs. Stachnik has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Central Michigan University with a concentration in Stratigraphic Analysis. She worked at Peerless Environmental for two years after college, and then concentrated on raising her children. Mrs. Stachnik has volunteered heavily in her children’s schools since moving to Midland, including volunteering with Girl Scouts for 17 years, concentrating on Troop Leadership, Volunteer Training/Development and Girl STEM Program Development. She recently returned to college to receive her Michigan Teaching Certification and is studying at Saginaw Valley State University.

Laurie Witt

Laurie is a native of Midland, along with her husband and three teenage sons.  She graduated from Michigan State University in Elementary Education with minors in Spanish and English.  She did a year long internship in East Lansing in an international school in second grade.  While earning her Master’s in Literacy Instruction from MSU, she taught sixth grade in Mason, Michigan for two years.  Laurie was a Reading Recovery teacher in 1st grade as well as a title I teacher.  This is Laurie’s fourth year teaching Spanish.  Laurie is a member of the Outreach Team at Blessed Sacrament Church.   Attending St. Brigid Catholic Church is something Laurie and her family enjoy doing on Sundays.
